One Delicious Meal!

Saturday Bo and I went to visit my parents house to visit and to help them clean out a storage building. As a reward for helping my mom made me Chicken Corn Soup. It was wonderful. My brother, sister-in-law, and Bo can eat it, but don't really like it. I love it and was really really hungry for it. My mom told my brother that the next time I come to visit he gets to pick the meal. Brother was quick to say he wanted Italian Meatloaf.

My mom also made Strawberry Pie. We all loved this. I think everyone had at least two helpings. My mom is an excellent cook. I'm so glad growing up my parents made us eat dinner at the table almost every night as a family.

The pie waiting to be eaten. Mom actually made three of these pies on Friday night. She stayed up until Midnight to finish them. THANKS! Mom I loved them.

New Shelves

While my mom and I were at Disney on Ice Bo and my dad put up my Ikea shelves in my sewing room. I think Bo and Dad had fun. I appreciate them during this for me. Now if I could only find the time to fill them up.

Weekend Overload

Weekend in reverse so you know why I'm so tired I can't think straight.

Last night Bo and I went to Birmingham to see Wicked, which was excellent. We drove home in the rain and we didn't get home until 11:45. We are both way to old for staying out that late.

We did have any excellent dinner at Ted's Montana Grill. I will definitely be going back there. Food was good and they are environmentally friendly. If Ted Turner can make a resteraunt this good I wish he would buy the Braves back and make them good again. While I'm at it I also miss the old TBS Superstation.
We went to the zoo on Saturday. Our zoo has improved so much since Bo and I were kids.

My mom, nephew, sister-in-law, and Sister-in-law's mother went to Disney on Ice Friday night. I asked my mom if she would wear a matching shirt and she did. I got us Tinker Bell Shirts. I'm pretty sure my mom thought it was a little odd that I asked her to do this, but she did it anyway.
Now, I want to go take a nap.

National Treasure

I know I'm way behind, but last night Bo and I watch National Treasure. It was such a great movie. It also got me excited about going on vacation this summer. Bo and I are going to Pennsylvania to visit family and we are planning on visiting Philadelphia during our trip. I went there when I was kid and saw the Liberty Bell, Independence Hall, and Ben Franklin's grave. We didn't get to go into Betsy Ross' House which I hope to do this time. My parent's dog is named Betsy after Betsy Ross. (Maybe my dad would so kind as to scan in some pictures from that trip so I can share them. Hint. Hint. My dad is a faithful reader.)
I have already seen National Treasure 2 which was also a good movie. Tonight I hope to clean my house so another night without sewing and this weekend is super busy. I hope to sew again on Monday night. That seems like such a long time from now.

Measure Once Cut Twice

Bo and I get that saying confused sometimes and yes it does cost us dearly both in time and money. This time we miss measured the middle curtain rod. But now all is fixed and my sewing room curtains are hung. I just love this fabric. It was on sale for a $1.99 a yard, and I just couldn't pass it up.
I left extra ribbon in case I wanted to change the height of the curtain.

If I totally want to block the sun.

See You Monday

I have the hymn He Lives going over and over again in my head. It is one of my favorite hymns.

One Fish, Two Fish

We went to the Farm Saturday to get away. I wanted to go for a ride and Bo wanted to go to the farm so we drove an hour spur of the moment and went fishing.

Duckey was there to greet us. Really, he just wanted food.

My Father-In-Law fixed broken lines and lost hooks all afternoon.
Bo and his mom were catching fish left and right. These are two of the small ones. The both caught huge monster catfish at the end of the night. I don't fish, but I enjoy the farm.

The cooler was full when we left. Luckily, I don't have to clean the fish, but I sure will enjoy eating them when we have a fish fry.

Thankful Thursday

Since yesterday was our anniversary, I am going to feature Bo on Thankful Thursday. Here are just a few of the reasons I'm thankful for him:
1. Bo knows how to appreciate his family. In this picture he is fishing with his grandmother. I would have to guess some of his fondest childhood memories are going fishing with his Grandmother and Great Grandmother on Sunday afternoons. 2. Bo knows how to be supportive and encouraging. He showed me both of these characteristics numerous times when I went back to school. There several times I wanted to quit, but he was always there with an encouraging word and support. He would help me work through problems, read papers, and ask me review questions. 3. Bo knows how to have fun and is has a dry sense of humor. This picture was taken at Disney World. He had so much fun we went two years in a row. (Bo I apologize for this being such a bad picture. )

4. Bo knows how to be patient and look for the right opportunities.

Thanks for being you, Bo.

I feel like I just stole from the old Nike commercial with Bo Jackson in it. Man, that shows my age.

Third Anniversary

Bo and I have been married three years today. Some days it seems much longer than that, but in a good way. This is a picture of us on our honeymoon in Hawaii.
Bo and I meet while working together. I referred to him as the Dude from Accounting or the Accounting Dude. I never got that he was really interested in me. A co-worker asked me if Bo asks you to lunch will you go. I said, "Yes. why?" Apparently, I had given him the cold shoulder and he had given up on asking me out. We went to lunch and I quizzed him on all kinds of things. More like an interrogation than a date. This was because my mom had been praying for the right guy to come into my life. I told her I would know if he was right for me if he meet my list. Needless to say he meet all my requirements, and then some. I forgot to put on my list that he needed to be an Auburn football fan, so of course he is an Alabama fan. God has such a sense of humor. We went on a dinner date two days after our first date. After leaving dinner I called my mom and told her I had meet the man I was going to marry. That was in the end of November and the next June we were engaged. I hope to spend many many more years with Bo.
